Dr. Frederick Gustave

Dr. Gustave is a graduate of Temple University Dental School in Philadelphia, PA and completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Washington University, Barnes Hospital and St John’s Mercy Center in St Louis.

Dr. Gustave’s special area of expertise is in the area of dental implants and the associated procedures related to implant surgery. Since finishing his residency, Dr. Gustave has been in private practice in Carbondale, Illinois where he performs a wide range of oral and maxillofacial procedures such as wisdom teeth extractions and outpatient IV anesthesia. He also performs reconstructive orthognathic surgery of the jaws and repairs dental trauma and fractures of the facial bones and jaws.

Dr. Gustave is board certified by the American Board of Oral Implantology and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a lifetime member of the American Dental Association and is an associate fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and is board certified by the American Board of Implantology. In addition to these affiliations, Dr. Gustave has served as a board examiner for the American Board of Implantology and has served as vice president of the Central District of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is a founding member of the GROWS Study Club, a bi-state association of surgeons and restorative dentists. This organization is dedicated to the study of dental implants and the advancement of implant dentistry.

Dr. Gustave is the father of four and has four grandsons. In his spare time, Dr. Gustave enjoys bicycling with his wife, Rhonda, fly fishing, reading and traveling.
